Developing younger leaders

Updated: Aug 2, 2018

In 2007, while leading the ministries of Cru in Southern and Eastern Africa, we identified a shortage of quality leaders as one of the critical needs in Africa. Now as we work with many organizations in GACX, we have observed similar needs for more qualified leaders. As a result, we have developed GATL (Global Academy for Transformational Leadership), an accredited MA program that focuses on spiritual formation, character development and practical leadership skills. Within the past four weeks, we started GATL cohorts in Nairobi and Addis Ababa

I am writing this to you from Washington Dulles airport on my way back from Ethiopia after teaching a three-credit course on Holistic Personal Leadership to mostly Cru Staff leading various ministries. In addition to teaching the course, I had opportunities to preach in two of the fastest growing churches in Addis Ababa. Traveling with me to Ethiopia were Dr. Michael Whyte, CEO, and Erin Van Tuinen, VP for Enrollment and Administration, two of the senior leaders of GATL.

GATL is a practical and life-changing program in which younger leaders from around the world are showing great  interest. We are in the process of developing a global network of course facilitators and mentors so that more leaders could be developed for the Kingdom of God. Please kindly let me know if you would like to be involved in facilitating a course or mentoring a younger leader.
